Poway Youth Lacrosse

Poway Youth Lacrosse teaches boys-rules lacrosse and fields teams in four divisions based on school grade. Those divisions are: K-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, and 7th-8th grade. There may be multiple teams within any one division depending on enrollment. Each team practices twice a week at the Poway Community Center Turf field behind Valley Elementary. Teams will compete in eight regular season games against other San Diego community teams on Saturdays.

Poway Youth Lacrosse is intended for residents of Poway and surrounding neighborhoods like Ramona that do not yet have community lacrosse programs of their own. We love first-time players at all grade levels; come try the fastest game on two feet!

Key Dates: Optional pre-season workouts begin the week of January 8th, 2024 on most Mondays and Thursdays. Regular season practices begin the week of February 5th. Games are typically on Saturdays, beginning March 2nd. The regular season wraps up May 4th, with the possibility of play-offs week of May 6th and finals on May 13th.

Team Practice Schedules

• K-2nd Grade - Monday/Wednesday  - 5:15-6:15PM - Starting February 5th
• 3rd-4th Grade - Tuesday/Thursday - 5:15-6:30PM - Starting February 6th
• 5th-6th Grade - Monday/Wednesday - 5:15-6:45PM - Starting February 5th
• 7th-8th Grade - Tuesday/Thursday - 6:15-7:45PM - Starting February 6th

All players must have a lacrosse stick, NOCSAE approved helmet, gloves, arm pads, NOCSAE approved shoulder pads, cleats, protective cup and mouthpiece. Poway Youth Lacrosse has some equipment that players may borrow. E-mail honorthegame@powayyouthlacrosse.com if you would like to borrow equipment or inquire about our limited available scholarships.

Players will receive a pair of game shorts and a t-shirt to wear under pads with a paid registration. Those are yours to keep. Game jerseys and practice pinnies will be returned at the end of the season.

Registration Cost:

K-4th Grade - $220

5-8th Garde - $400 

To qualify for the program, all players must be members of USA Lacrosse. During the registration process you will be directed to the USA Lacrosse website to complete the $35 annual membership enrollment.

Refunds on registration will not be permitted after the regular season begins.
